I guess the whole idea came from a trend I noticed towards "transparency". As an architect, I am seeing homes being equipped with systems that are hidden such as outlets, a/c registers, speakers hidden behind wall panels, or up in the attic space. Hidden, or "transparent" light fixtures, switches, TV's, etc. I saw a 60 min. show with Martin Cooper, the one who brought us the cell phone back in the late seventies. He saw the perfect cell phone, if I recall correctly, being one you don't hold. It would be somewhere behind your ear, or just a chip under the skin by your ear where you would just speak normally, and the the sound coming in would be sent to your ear. . . .Pretty cool concept, except no more cool camera, or apps to play with. The idea is that technology becomes transparent.
